Nerves were high as the racers came through the gates from Luna (thank you Crimson for those!). They signed the registry books for the races they wished to run in, bought their raffle tickets and lotto tickets and made their way to the start area and stadium seating.

That was how the night started in Fort Briarwood! Melph and I were ready at 9pm Eastern on the dot with help from Bamboom, Seamus and Lady Crimson as well as Montana Wolf, who provided us the benches for tonight's event.

Everyone was in a buzz because tonight was the first event to give away one of the items donated to Melph and myself from A Fluffy Bunny. The item up for grabs was the Royal Britannia Naval Boots but it was a secret as to which race it was first prize for.

The night started with a general overview of the rules. Melph was going to be the race announcer while I was at the starting line starting up the races.
The first race was the Horse Race followed by the Double N Race and the Beetle Race. There was a short intermission for the raffle and lottery. After that, the Horse race was held followed by the ethereal races, and another short break for lottery and raffle and then the final race, Anything Goes. Prizes were awarded and the lottery was held until we were able to give that gold away!
So lets recap those events!

For the Foot Race, there were roughly 12 runners with Blaster coming in First and Sir Tames a Lot coming in Second. The crowds on the side cheered everyone on and listened intentely as Melph announced the race at the different turns.

The next race was won by Low Wolf by default! Come on Necromancers and Ninjas... come out next time and give this guy a run for his money!
The third race of the night was the Beetle Run. Folks checked under the hoods of their bugs and prepped them for a good run. We even gave a brief break so a couple folks could have a beetle tamed for them. Again, Blaster came in first but this time, Robbin Hoodlum came in second.

The fourth race was the Horse Race. This was for mounts of the equine family, but not ethereal. Again, the big winner of the night Blaster came in first with Robbin again following him close behind in second.

The Ethereal was the fifth race of the night. We had a bit of a falst start on this one so we had to let the mounts regenerate and we took an intermission with more lottery and the final raffle number. After a bit of time, the mounts were charged up and were off to the races. And once more, Blaster crossed the line for first but a new person stepped into second, Dragonfire.

The final race of the night was the Almost Anything Goes race. Folks mounted up on beetles, ethereals, horses and even on foot to take a shot at this race. In the end, we even had the final two racers crossing the line as a chicken and a demon! First prize again went to Blaster with Robbin Hoodlum taking 2nd place for the third time of the night.

Winning Raffle Codes were kop58w, jke7ar and dpw365. Dragonfire was able to win 25K by having one of those winning tickets. The other two were not purchased therefore were not collected on.
For the Lottery - we played the lottery, the second chance lottery, the second to the last chance lottery all the way to the very last of the last of the last chance lotteries.

Numbers called in order for the night (rolled by Melph on the spot!) 08-06-10 no winner 06-11-08 no winner 05-06-07 no winner (and weird to roll it that way!) 06-06-09 no winner 07-05-10 no winner 10-08-05 TWO WINNING TICKETS!
The prize for the lottery was if you got all 3 numbers, you won 150K but if you had a ticket with the numbers in order as they were rolled, you doubled the winnings to 300K.
Congratulations Savoua Fair (and Olivia Adol who I think gave Sav her tickets before she had to leave the event).
All of the first and second place winners received a check for 20K and 10K, respectively as well as a token gift with their prize. The Naval Boots were given away as first prize for the Almost Anything Goes Race, which was won by Blaster.

It was definitely a great night and I hope the racers and spectators enjoyed themselves as much as Melph and I did.
